Why Your Concrete Project Needs a Laser Screed
Raeco Builders prides itself on the use of laser screed on many of their large concrete projects. We believe in the precision of the use of laser screed in our projects and the results speak for themselves. Why should you care? We’ll if you want precision work, with cost savings, read on.
So what is Laser Screed?
Laser Screed is a technology producing slab-on-grade concrete floors. It provides a flatter, stronger and durable floor design by utilizing 3D Profiler System.
Concrete and Laser Screed
Concrete alone is a coarse finish, unlike Laser Screed which allows for a smoother finish. Raeco’s use of Laser Screed and its 3D Profiler System, allows them to reduce the time it takes to pour concrete, often because it’s a single pour. Laser Screed’s precision with the experience of the Raeco team, allows for beautiful concrete pads that hold up for decades under high traffic.
How does it all work?
Screed uses a Laser System to help get precision and efficient results. Let’s discuss the breakdown of the system used.
Laser Transmitter: similar to the laser system used in many construction projects; it transmits a laser beam across the area of the floor for precision.
Levelling System: This has multiple components to it.
Scraper Plate: using a laser sensor the scraper draws across a freshly poured concrete, helping to level the surface.
Vibration Unit: this is an auger that vibrates and consolidates the concrete for a smoother finish.
Dry Shake Finish: before the concrete is set, is finished with a dry shake.
Benefits of Laser Screed
Laser Screed has many advantages from a processionally flat concrete surface to the smooth finish.
It creates a large area of jointless concrete that is created faster with the use of the laser screed and traditional methods.
Because of the efficiency, it means that there are less crew members involved in laying the floor. The cost of laying the floor is reduced due to less crew needed.
The use of the Laser sensor reduces the possibility of errors in construction.
Due to the efficiency of the Laser System, the concrete structural integrity is better with the reduction of surfacing cracking.
Bottom Line
Laser Screed technology allows us to work faster with a better end product. Keeping your project on track and at the highest possible quality.
